LATEUM
15th International Conference
CURRENT MODELS FOR NAVIGATING ELT RESEARCH AND PRACTICES
October 1-3 2025, Moscow, Lomonosov Moscow State University
LATEUM is happy to announce a call for papers and participation in the 15th LATEUM Conference Current Models for Navigating ELT Research and Practices. The conference brings together established and emerging fields of research in English Language Teaching, offering a comprehensive perspective on current trends and challenges. Traditional areas such as phonetics, Academic English, Business English, literature in the EFL classroom will be discussed alongside research that addresses contemporary global changes. Special focus will be given to the role of English in the era of big data and artificial intelligence, multimodal communication, and linguistic creativity in various types of discourse. These innovative areas highlight the ways in which language teaching and research are adapting to technological advancements, new modes of interaction, and evolving cultural landscapes.
In the context of ESP and EAP, the world of subject discourse is becoming increasingly complex in its effort to reflect the diversity and interaction of disciplinary cultures. New demands are also put forward in people’s professional activities, which presuppose familiarity with various spheres of human experience. Interdisciplinary courses appear in the curricula, giving rise to new genres of language usage. Particularly important in this regard is the analysis of functional-stylistic types of speech in terms of differences of cognitive and cultural nature. Many of these problems are interdisciplinary and indicate an expansion of ELT knowledge in the direction of interaction of various skills in professional communication. Through keynote presentations, special interest group sessions and workshops, the event aims to foster dialogue and bridge the gap between established methodologies and cutting-edge research, offering valuable insights for scholars and practitioners alike.
